Tolland Obituary: Susan Knox, 88

Susan (Trimmer) Knox, 88, of Ellington, loving wife of the late Thomas F. Knox, Sr., entered into Eternal Rest on Sunday, November 1, 2015, at Woodlake at Tolland surrounded by her family.

Susan was born August 17, 1927, in Toronto, OH the daughter of the late Floyd and Grace (Myers) Trimmer. Susan was born and raised in Ohio and attended local schools there. After High School she received her Bachelor’s Degree and began her career as an elementary school teacher. Susan was a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star and member of the Somers Women’s Club. She was an avid fan of UConn Women’s Basketball and the New England Patriots.

Susan and Tom made their home in Somers for 38 years and were members of the Somers Congregational Church. In 2003 she moved to Ellington where she has lived for 12 years and she was a member of the Ellington Congregational Church.

She is survived by her two children, Debra Ann Oliver and her husband, Gordon of Ellington (with whom she resided the past 12 years) and Thomas F. Knox, Jr. and his wife, Cathy of Hooksett, NH; her beloved 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren whom she loved tremendously. Susan was predeceased by a brother, Jack Trimmer.

There are no calling hours and funeral services and burial will be held privately. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Somers Funeral Home, 354 Main St. Somers, CT 06071.
