Tolland School Officials to Discuss Evacuation Procedures
Officials will discuss evacuation procedures after hundreds of students were sent into the cold after the high school was evacuated.

Tolland school officials will be discussing evacuation procedures after a fire forced occupants to evacuate the high school.
Tolland Superintendent Walter Willett said school officials will evaluate the process to see if there can be any improvement, according to WFSB.
Some staff members have submitted ideas, including “go bags” which would have cold weather items ready for students in the event of an emergency.

Willett said staff members did the best they could during the evacuation, which forced hundreds of students into the cold. They walked to the nearby middle school, many without coats. Two students were treated at the hospital for exposure symptoms.
