and other similar topics in Tolland? The Planning and Zoning Commission has launched a brief survey to
begin gauging public sentiment on Tolland growth and development.
The survey also signifies the start of the Commissionβs efforts to update the townβs long-range land use
plan, called a βPlan of Conservation and Development.β
The Plan looks at growth, preservation, transportation, infrastructure, business, housing and other topics. The townβs last plan was adopted in 2009 and the state requires that plans are updated at least once every 10 years.
At this early stage, the Commission wishes to learn the publicβs priorities. This is the first of many
outreach efforts that will occur over the next 18 months. Public workshops and a telephone survey are
also planned. Knowledge about the plan is not necessary to take the survey. This survey is general and
later in the process the Commission will delve deeper into issues.
The survey is can be accessed in two ways: directly here ...
or through the townβs website via the Planning & Development page (look for β2019 Plan of
Conservation & Development Updateβ in the left menu).
You can also find the current plan and plans dating back to 1964 online.
If you have any questions about the plan or survey, please contact the Planning and Development
Department at 860-871-3601, Monday through Thursday.
