TOLLAND, CT β To The Editor:
As a Tolland resident of seven years and a professional public educator for twenty-four years, I have full faith that Dana Philbin will continue to zealously serve Tolland and her community on the Board of Education. Danaβs tireless advocacy for and commitment to the best possible academic experience for our students are evident in all her actions. She was instrumental in promoting the successful Birch Grove Primary School Referendum in May 2019. Since her election to the BOE in November 2019 and her appointment to three subcommittees, she has continued to dedicate herself to the success of the Tolland Public Schools.
Despite the voluntary nature of her elected Tolland position, Dana has exceeded expectations, attending and constructively participating on the Board of Education, the Finance and Facility Committee, the Negotiations Committee, and the extraordinarily demanding Birch Grove Building Committee. Dana does her homework and communicates regularly with her constituents. Dana is humble, respectful, and considerate; and she valiantly addresses concerns which need attention.

She is an adherent to Einsteinβs notion, βWhat is right is not always popular and what is popular is not always right.β Danaβs primary motivation is to ensure the right choices and decisions are made for Tollandβs students, while juggling her additional roles as mom, wife, professional, and friend.
I enthusiastically endorse Dana Philbinβs candidacy for Tollandβs Board of Education, and ask that you vote for her as well. I have no doubt that Dana will continue to ensure a quality education for my children and for the children of Tolland, our most worthy resource.
