Tolland Referendum Location Changed Amid Virus Concerns

TOLLAND, CT — Tolland elections officials have announced a change in the polling place for the upcoming budget referendum.

The voting location has been changed from the Library Program Room to the Tolland Recreation Center "due to concerns for COVID-19 and keeping everyone spaced safely apart."

The annual budget referendum is scheduled for May 3. The Tolland Recreation Center is located at 104 Old Post Road.

Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Only registered Tolland voters may vote in the referendum.

Absentee ballot applications are available now in the town clerk's office and on the town website:

Applications and ballots may be deposited in the drop boxes. Boxes are ow being emptied daily. Drop Box locations are at Parking Lot A near the Human Services entrance of the Hicks Center and Parking Lot C of the Hicks near the Tolland Library entrance.

Town officials said if applying via mail, residents should get applications to the clerk’s office by April 25 to allow enough processing time for USPS turn-around. Absentee ballots can be returned in-person to the clerk's office until 4:30 p.m. May 2, or in the mail or drop boxes by 8 p.m. May 3.
