TOLLAND, CT — A Tolland man surrendered to authorities last week to answer accusations that he staged an illicit car ride with a teenager over several miles between an eastern Connecticut residence and Tolland, according to a warrant.

A warrant has charged 35-year-old Rick Labelle will illegal sexual contact with a victim younger than 16. He posted a $25,000 bond and is due in court on April 6, according to an arrest report.

The case dates back to the fall of 2021. The mother of the teen told state police that, somewhere between the two towns, Labelle touched the teen inappropriately, according to a warrant. He was bringing to teen to a local gathering and was authorized to do so, according to a warrant.
