The incidents took place Monday, officials said.

TOLLAND, CT — Tolland fire officials are investigating resident complaints about door-to-door solicitors claiming to be from the fire department.
Tolland Fire Department administrators were called at about 7:30 p.m. on Monday by residents of Walbridge Hill Road about solicitors knocking on their doors, officials said.
The solicitors said they were members of the fire department, fire officials said they were told.

The residents also told administrators that it appeared some type of fire vehicle was being used to transport the solicitors, officials said.
"The Tolland Fire Department does not go door-to-door soliciting residents for donations," fire officials said while urging residents to report any suspicious activity to the state police Troop barracks, 860-896-3200.
