Tolland Residents Score Another Knockdown In Round 2 Of Budget Battle

TOLLAND, CT — The proposed 2024-25 fiscal year budget for Tolland failed to pass in a second referendum Tuesday.

The count was:

• Yes: 963
• No: 1,066
• Turnout: 19.58 percent

The budget proposal of $64,364,940, reflected a spending increase of $2,813,583 or 4.57 percent.

The budget, if passed, would have required an estimated tax rate of 38.49 mills, a jump of of 1.16 mills, or 3.11 percent.

A proposal of $64,559,940 failed by the count of 1,060 t0 812 on May 7.
