According to a state police crash report, Martello's 2017 Subaru Outback was headed eastbound about a mile west of Exit 66 at 8:33 a.m. A truck was parked on the shoulder at the time, state police said.

The Subaru suddenly veered off the travel portion of the highway and hit the truck from behind, according to a crash report. The weather had cleared out from a previous snowstorm and the road "wet from snow melt," according to a crash report.
