TOLLAND, CT — It's time to skate at Crandall's Park in Tolland.

The wintertime temporary ice rink at the park officially opened for the season at 4 p.m. Thursday.

The lights will be on from 4 until until midnight through the weekend, town manager Brian Foley said.

"The Town of Tolland may close the rink at any time as circumstances and weather dictate," he said. "However, weather looks good through the weekend into Monday morning. DPW will monitor the ice thickness."

During sessions, the rink may temporarily close for maintenance. When it is closed because of weather, the area is under "No Trespassing" rules, Foley said. Multiple security cameras are covering the area.
