TOLLAND, CT — A list of conceptual designs for a proposed park for seniors has been compiled by the Tolland Conservation Commission and the University of Connecticut Landscape Architecture Program, which are teaming up to explore possibilities for a municipally owned 13-acre property on Sugar Hill Road.

The land was donated by the Wanat family a number of years ago with a stipulation that it be used for open space and that "benefits Tolland seniors," local officials said.

The land on Sugar Hill Road does not have a formal address, but surrounds No. 97 on three sides, town officials said.

At an October workshop, 50 residents worked with the students to generate ideas for the park.

The students each developed a concept for a park and presented them at a Dec. 4 Conservation Commission special meeting. The concepts are compiled into a final document, titled "Wanat Park Design, Tolland, Connecticut."
