Tolland Student Records, Sends Rap Song as Threat: Report

A Tolland student was charged after allegedly threatening another student through a rap song.

TOLLAND, CT — A local student is facing three criminal charges for allegedly threatening another student with a homemade rap song posted on social media.

The victim was listed as 15 years old. No school was specifically mentioned in a report, only the address of "Eagle Hill Drive." Tolland High School is located at 1 Eagle Hill.

The age of the male student charged was not mentioned in a report. Names of juveniles are exempt from disclosure in arrest reports, per state law.

A school resource officer said that, on Sept. 5, several "concerned community members" complained about, "a juvenile who made a rap recording and threatened another juvenile," a report states.

State police determined that a song was shared on social media that did contain threats, according to a report. The student later admitted to posting the rap song, according to a report. He was released to a guardian after being charged with threatening, breach of peace and harassment, records show.

Police did not reference a web address for the posted rap song.

The case is being handled through the juvenile court system, state police said.
