TOLLAND, CT — A Tolland High School physical education teacher has been placed on administrative leave after being arrested on Wednesday.

An arrest shows state police took 45-year-old Victor Hurtuk into custody early in the school day — 7:04 a.m. Superintendent of Schools Water Willett politely declined to offer any details but did say that Hurtek was placed on administrative leave until further notice.

Hurtek, who lives at 76 Tolland Green, was charged with disorderly conduct and second-degree reckless endangerment, according to an arrest report. The victim was only listed as a 44-year-old. An arrest report said he engaged in "reckless" behavior that could have led to the victim being injured.
