Tolland Volunteers Take to the Roofs to Clear Snow
A number of volunteers helped clear school roofs in Tolland.

An army of volunteers took to Tolland school roofs armed with shovels to help clear them of snow and prevent leaks or worse.
The work is normally done by custodians and public works employees, but they have already been working overtime and contractors would be expensive, according to WFSB.
So school officials put a request out for volunteers to help clear roofs that have been pummelled week after week with snow.

Students weren’t allowed on the roof, but helped on the ground-level clearing sidewalks and doing other similar work.
