A trooper positioned his state police cruiser in front of the Honda, but the driver of the Honda swerved around the cruiser and continued in the wrong way on the curved ramp toward Interstate-91, according to a report.

Troopers forced the Honda to a stop on the I-91 southbound Exit 22 ramp in Cromwell, where they
determined the operator, identified as 47-year-old Jennifer West, of Tolland, was intoxicated after she failed standardized field sobriety tests, according to a report.

West was charged with Reckless Driving, Disobeying the Signal of an Officer, Driving the Wrong Way on a Divided Highway.

She was charged with second-degree reckless endangerment and driving under the influence, state police said.

West was released after posting $2,500 bond and is scheduled to appear in Middletown Superior Court on Sept. 21, state police said.
