Tolland's Kate Farrish Appointed To Freedom Of Information Commission
In March, she will go before a state legislative committee for consideration for a full term.

HARTFORD, CT — Kate Farrish of Tolland, an assistant professor of Journalism at Central Connecticut State University, was sworn in on Sept. 13 to fill a vacancy on the state Freedom of Information Commission.
She was appointed by Gov. Ned Lamont to serve on the nine-member board until March, when she will go before a state legislative committee for consideration for a full term.
The state Freedom of Information Commission administers and enforces the provisions of the Connecticut Freedom of Information Act.

In June, Farrish also became president of the Connecticut Foundation for Open Government, a non-profit group that educates the public on the importance of government transparency and how to use the FOI law to attend public meetings and access public records.
