Tolland's Littell Gets Major Emergency Management Award

TOLLAND, CT — Tolland Emergency Management Director John Littell has been selected as the recipient of the 2019 Emergency Manager of the Year Award, sponsored by the Northeast States Emergency Consortium.

Littell, 47, is a second-generation chief who seems to make it to every call. His details are often quickly sent out to local media members and posted on the Tolland Alert Twitter page.

He is also a serious planner. His initiatives include periodic Community Emergency Response Team classes that train citizens in the basics of emergency management.
