Transit Bus Hits Pickup Truck In Tolland Commuter Lot

TOLLAND, CT — A CT Transit bus hit a pickup truck parked at the Exit 68 commuter lot in Tolland last week, state police said.

The crash took place at 7:24 p.m. on Dec. 12, according to a state police report.

According to the report, a 2000 Dodge Dakota was parked unoccupied in the commuter lot facing east. A transit bus then entered the lot in an effort to turn around and the driver, not seeing the Dakota, hit the rear end of it, according to a crash report.

The Dakota had to be towed away, state police said.

The bus driver's listed birthday on a crash report put him at 76 years old. He was issued a verbal warning for making an unsafe turn, state police said. The crash report listed no occupants on the bus.
