Truck Bursts into Flames on Highway in Tolland ... Then Another One Crashes

TOLLAND, CT — A truck caught fire on a section of Interstate-84 in Tolland late Wednesday morning.

The fire was reported by Tolland Alert at about 10 a.m. Pictures released by the service showed a smoking tractor-trailer on a high point on I-84 eastbound, just east of Exit 68.

Traffic was delayed just to the west of the incident.

Tolland Alert released a video of the incident via Twitter:

A second tractor trailer then crashed in the area a short time later, spilling debris on the road and sending more crews to the scene, state police said.

Traffic was delayed because of that crash, too.

Delays were anticipated to last up to the evening rush hour, authorities said.
