Utility Pole, Stone Wall Get Worst of Tolland Crash
A car crashed into a utility pole and a wall on a busy Tolland Road, state police said.

TOLLAND, CT — A car took out a utility pole and then flipped during a crash on Merrow Road Friday evening, according to a state police report.
The crash took place at 5:40 p.m.
State police said a 2012 Hyundai Accent was traveling was heading south on Merrow Road — the local name for state Route 195 — and it suddenly Veered off to the right. It slammed into a utility pole in front of 420 Merrow Road and flipped onto its roof, according to a report.

The car also damaged a stone wall, but the driver, a 68-year-old Tolland man, was taken to Rockville General Hospital b y ambulance with suspected minor injuries, state police said.
