Vehicle With 'Passed Out Driver' Found Parked On I-84: Report

A driver was found 'asleep' in his car in the center lane of a busy highway in Tolland, state police said.

TOLLAND, CT — State police charged a man with improper parking and driving under the influence after he was found asleep in his car in the center lane of Interstate-84, a report indicates.

A report on the Jan. 17 incident was shared by the Troop C barracks this week.

At 9:54 p.m., state police received several 911 calls about a man "passed out" in his vehicle on the eastbound side of the highway, the report indicates. Police then located a vehicle with New York plates, parked in the in the center lane, just short of Exit 68, the report says.

The driver was "asleep," according to a report. He was identified as 33-year-old Kendal Johnson, who failed sobriety tests and was arrested, according to a report.

Johnson is due in court on Feb. 4, records show.
