Tolland Veterans Corner: Oh say can you see our Monument

Today our country, the United States of America, is at a crossroads. It has taken us 245 years to get to this Y in the road that will now truly determine who we really are and what we actually will become as we continue down this road called life. This article about our monument is the first in hopefully many more stories and events in our Tolland community that we all love. As a Veteran, I am proud to be a member of the Tolland Veterans Commission, and as your Chairman it is my wish beginning today that we all take a moment to say a prayer for all of our veterans, active or reserve, and that you will pledge your positive energy to do what is good for the betterment of all who have served this country.

A Prayer for Our Veterans

Oh God, our heavenly Father, You have blessed us with brave men and women who are willing to defend our freedom. May your protection and grace surround them each day Let your healing hand be upon those who suffer wounds and injuries. May those who have made the ultimate sacrifice rest forever in Your Holy Presence. Comfort the families who mourn and are left to remember the precious lives of their loved ones. Help us to honor and support them. Let us ever be mindful of each sacrifice made on behalf of the American people by our sons, daughters, husbands, wives, mothers, fathers, and friends.
