A “Big” is a friend, role model, and mentor who can make a powerful difference in a child’s life. Children with mentors are more likely to improve academic performance, stay in school, build positive relationships, avoid risky behaviors, and become responsible members of the community.

What is a site-based program?

Bigs and their Littles participate in activities during the school year in a weekly structured program facilitated by the site-based coordinator. The goal is to help Bigs and Littles build a strong relationship.

How do you become a Big?

Volunteers will need to complete a brief application and provide references. The volunteers will be interviewed, screened and trained by NBBBS. Bigs and Littles will be matched based on common characteristics and interests.
