Wayward Hot Air Balloon Causes a Stir Near Shenipsit Lake
Firefighters responded to initial hot air balloon "crash" reports.

TOLLAND, CT — A wayward hot air balloon caused quite a stir near Shenipsit Lake on Saturday.
At about 8 p.m., reports of a "crash" began circulating on social media and in text messaging among area residents.
Tolland fire officials said crews responded to the reports in area of Ellington Road near Shenipsit Lake.

When emergency crews arrived, responders found that the balloon did not crash, fire officials said. It landed safely in a back yard on Ellington Road, fire officials said.
At 9 p.m., the scene was cleared and no injuries were reported, fire officials said.
