WEATHER UPDATE: Snow Accumulation Prediction Made for Tolland

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for the long duration snowstorm.

A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for a long duration significant snowstorm that is expected to dump between 10-14 inches of snow on the area.

Light snow is forecast for today, which will grow heavier and steadier late tonight and throughout the day on Monday, the National Weather Service predicts.

Hazardous driving conditions are expected and of course the worst of the snow is predicted to fall during Monday morning’s commute to work. Winds are also expected to gust up to 35 miles per hour as well.

But there is some good news once we get past this latest storm, there appears to be no new snow chances as of right now in the National Weather Service’s seven day forecast through Saturday. Of course that can always change too.

Tonight Snow. Low around 17. Northeast wind 8 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.

Monday Snow. High near 22. Northeast wind around 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.

Monday Night Snow, mainly before 3am. Low around 12. Wind chill values as low as -3. North wind 13 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

Tuesday A chance of snow, mainly before 8am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 29. North wind around 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
