WEATHER UPDATE: Tolland's Stormy Weekend Forecast

Once again thunderstorms and rain are possible this weekend.

We had been on a roll of having gorgeous weather weekends for the past six weeks or so, but that is about to change somewhat this weekend.

It’s not a complete washout as Saturday is definitely the best weather day of the weekend.

In reality the best weather is forecast for today with sunny skies and temps in the high 70s in southern Connecticut and into the mid 80s in the northern part of the state.

For Saturday, showers and thunderstorms are possible in the afternoon hours along the southern half of the state, while there appears to be no rain threat in the northern half of the state on Saturday.

Plenty of sun is also forecast for Saturday with highs between 77-83 in Connecticut with cooler temps at the shoreline.

On Saturday night, thunderstorms are possible for the entire state and that carries over into Sunday.

Fog may also be an issue late Saturday/early Sunday and then it will be cloudy all day on Sunday with a chance of showers and thunderstorms during the day and evening.

Here is Tolland’s latest hyperlocal National Weather Service forecast:

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 83. Light and variable wind becoming southeast around 5 mph.

Friday Night: Patchy fog after 4am. Otherwise, partly cloudy, with a low around 58. South wind 5 to 7 mph.

Saturday: Patchy fog before 8am. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 77. South wind 8 to 16 mph.

Saturday Night: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 11pm, then a chance of showers between 11pm and midnight, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after midnight. Patchy fog after 4am. Otherwise, increasing clouds, with a low around 61. South wind 7 to 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Sunday: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Patchy fog before 9am. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 68. Southwest wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 70%.

Sunday Night: Showers likely. Patchy fog after midnight. Otherwise, cloudy, with a low around 49. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
