Wires Fall On School Bus in Tolland

TOLLAND, CT — A school bus came to an unscheduled stop in Tolland on Thursday morning after wires fell on top of it, fire officials said.

The incident took place at about 7:30 a.m. on Grant Hill Road. No children were aboard, fire officials said.

Grant Hill was closed for about an hour between New Road and Ghering Road while a crew from Eversource Energy removed the wires from the bus roof, fire officials said. The driver was evaluated at the scene and refused transport, fire officials said.
