TOLLAND, CT — Work on the new version of Fire Station 340 in Tolland is progressing.

Town manager Brian Foley presented an update in his latest report to the Town Council.

The cost is $3,027,278 to replace the out-dated former station at 247 Gehring Road.

In November, contractor Lawrence Brunoli Inc. completed foundation work and site paving for the new fire station, according to the report.

begin "right away" with crews erecting the structural steel, Foley said.

The exterior building construction is expected to last six to eight weeks, with interior work to follow, Foley said.

Back in late January, all fire apparatus was removed and the building was turned over to the contractor.
