Worker's Foot Crushed at Route 74 Bridge Project

A construction accident took place Monday morning on the Tolland-Willington line.

TOLLAND/WILLINGTON, CT — A construction worker was seriously injured when jack collapsed at the Route 74 bridge project on Monday, state Department of Transportation officials said.

The accident took place on Monday morning and emergency crews from Willington and Tolland rushed to the scene. The bridge connects the two towns.

State DOT spokesman Kevin Nursick said the temporary bridge was being removed and a worker's foot was crushed when the jack collapsed.
