$1,400 Tool Theft at Trumbull Home Depot, Suspect Charged: PD

The suspect tried to flee police, but he was apprehended.

TRUMBULL, CT — A New Haven man was arrested after he tried to steal more than $1,400 worth of tools from the Trumbull Home Depot on Feb. 24, according to police.

Security at the store noticed that Dominic Randi, 35, entered the store. He was known to security from prior incidents, police said. They observed him put items including a screw gun and other tools into a cart and attempt to leave the store without paying.

He ran when he saw officers arrive, police said. He was apprehended shortly after.

Randi was charged with fourth-degree larceny and interfering with police.
