12 Students Injured In School Bus Crash: Trumbull PD

The crash occurred Thursday morning in Trumbull.

TRUMBULL, CT — A total of 12 students were sent to area hospitals for observation of minor injuries after a crash involving a school bus and car on Churchill Road near Middlebrooks Avenue Thursday morning.

The crash happened shortly before 8:30 a.m. Students were on their way to Middlebrooks Elementary School.

The driver of the other car was injured and transported to the hospital. Police continue to investigate the crash, said Lt. Douglas Smith, police spokesman.

The Trumbull Board of Education notified parents of the 12 injured children. Other students on the bus along with the bus driver weren't hurt. To sign up for Trumbull breaking news alerts and more, click here.

The road was shut down for a period of time but reopened by 10 a.m.
