2 Teens Accused Of Stealing Car Arrested: Trumbull Police

Police said the teens were spotted inside the Target store at the Trumbull Mall, however they ran away from officers on foot.

TRUMBULL, CT — Two teens accused of stealing a car from West Haven were arrested Sunday in Trumbull, according to police.

Police said on Facebook the teens were spotted inside the Target store at the Trumbull Mall on Sunday, however they ran away on foot when officers closed in on them.

The two males, a 15-year-old New Haven resident and a 14-year-old Hamden resident, were then seen in the parking lot exiting a 2019 Hyundai Tucson that had been reported stolen from West Haven earlier in the day, according to police.

The owner of the Hyundai used a tracking device to help police find the car within hours of it being reported stolen, police said.

Both teens were charged with first-degree larceny and released to the custody of their parents. They are scheduled to appear in juvenile court this week, police said.
