5 Restaurants Owned By Trumbull Man Under Investigation

The eateries are owned by John Vazzano, who was charged in February with bribery, hindering prosecution and interfering with police.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — State officials are investigating five Fairfield County restaurants in connection with potential labor violations, according to the Connecticut Post.

Each of the eateries is owned by John Vazzano, of Trumbull, who was charged in February with bribery, hindering prosecution and interfering with police. The restaurants being investigated include Vazzy’s locations in Bridgeport, Shelton, Monroe and at the Fairchild Wheeler Golf Course in Fairfield, as well as Vazzano’s Four Seasons in Stratford, the Post reported.

The Department of Labor probe quickly expanded in March after it started at the Bridgeport restaurant following accusations that Vazzano interfered with an investigation of sexual assault involving two longtime employees of the business, according to the Post. Details of the probe regarding whether labor law and health and safety violations occurred at the restaurants are expected in August, the Post reported.

Vazzano’s attorney told the Post it was “standard routine” for the labor department to approach the case with a broader scope. Vazzano has applied for a pretrial probation program that could see his charges dismissed, according to the Post.

Vazzano’s next court date is set for Sept. 27, according to court records.
