TRUMBULL, CT — The town of Trumbull is seeking poll workers ahead of the upcoming 2026 primary and general elections.
According to the town website, Trumbull needs poll workers "to help make sure in-person voting is safe and all eligible votes are counted."
Responsibilities include greeting and checking in voters, handing out ballots, guarding the voting machines and helping voters with visual or mobility issues, according to the town.
Those interested must be 16 or older to apply.
Compensation ranges from $200 to $350, and poll workers must attend a training session prior to the election typically held Thursday evening before Election Day.
Democratic and Republican primaries are set to take place this year in Connecticut on Aug. 11, and a general election will be held Nov. 3.
Election Day start time is 5 a.m. and end time is 9 p.m. or later "depending on how long it takes to make sure that all the votes have been correctly counted," according to the town.
Poll workers must work the full day, and the town provides lunch and dinner for all poll workers, according to the town.
