Police Lt. Brian Falkenstein said in an email to Patch a one-car crash was reported Saturday around 12:30 p.m. at the restaurant, located at 123 Monroe Turnpike.

According to Falkenstein, the driver of the vehicle struck the front of the store while turning into the parking lot, causing damage.

No injuries were reported, according to Falkenstein.

The Long Hill Volunteer Fire Co. #1 Inc. also noted in a Facebook post over the weekend crews "responded to multiple MVAs in district" Friday and Saturday, "including a car into a restaurant."

On Saturday, Mex on Main informed customers in a Facebook post the restaurant planned to undergo a "temporary closure over the next few days following an unfortunate incident where a vehicle crashed into the front of our establishment earlier today."

The restaurant's team also noted they were working closely with local authorities and planned to reopen once they received necessary approval.

"We are relieved that no one was injured and extend our well wishes to the individual involved," the restaurant wrote on Facebook.

According to the restaurant's website, Mex On Main "is Trumbull's hometown Tex-Mex restaurant that offers fresh food and fast service," offering "the convenience of speedy service and the benefit of fresh, tasty, mouth-watering Mexican food."
