TRUMBULL, CT — A popular Trumbull pizzeria announced this week it will remain open after a vehicle struck and damaged the front of its building Monday afternoon.
In a Facebook post Monday night, Crown Pizza said a vehicle "accidentally struck the front of our building, causing damage to the front window and wall."
The post also noted "no one was injured, and everyone is safe."
According to the post, the pizzeria will continue operating as usual while repairs are being made.
"We'd like to sincerely thank everyone who reached out [Monday] with messages of concern and support," the post reads. "Your kindness truly means a lot to all of us at Crown Pizza."
The post also thanked customers for their "support, patience, and for being such an amazing community."
In a follow up post Tuesday morning, the pizzeria released a notice to customers apologizing for their appearance and noted their dining room is temporarily closed due to the incident.
"You're still welcome to enjoy your meal on our patio, and takeout and delivery remain available," a video included in the post reads. "We're working to resolve this as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience and continued support."
Requests for more information from Crown Pizza and the Trumbull Police Department were not immediately returned this week.
Located at 5663 Main Street in Trumbull, Crown Pizza offers New York-style pizzas in a variety of sizes and by the slice, as well as a wide assortment of wraps, subs, pizza rolls, calzones and pastas, according to the pizzeria's website.
