TRUMBULL, CT — The town recently provided a number of key updates on the Hillcrest Middle School construction project in Trumbull.
In a statement posted to the town website Friday, Trumbull officials said the project is proceeding on schedule and currently under budget.
According to the town, the current projected occupancy date remains the fall semester of 2028, with construction of the new school expected to be substantially completed in the spring of that year.
The move into the new school will be completed in the summer of 2028, according to the town.
"In the short term, the town's construction manager’s subcontractors will mobilize on site on Aug. 3, 2026, and temporary fencing will be erected around the site," the town website reads.
A public groundbreaking ceremony is planned for mid-September, according to the town.
"The phase one site work is currently under the projected budget for both the base bids and for certain alternates for the project," the website reads.
