TRUMBULL, CT — Three people were arrested this week in connection to stolen vehicles found in Trumbull, according to the Trumbull Police Department.

In a news release, Police Lt. Brian Falkenstein said two men were arrested Thursday around 7 a.m. after they were found in a stolen car parked in a Whitney Avenue parking lot.

According to Falkenstein, officers were called to the parking lot to investigate the vehicle after receiving information from the owner.

When officers arrived at the parking lot, they found two men sleeping in the front seat of the car, Falkenstein said.

Falkenstein said the car had been reported stolen overnight in Bridgeport.

Officers also found a number of items inside the car that are believed to have been stolen from unlocked vehicles in Trumbull and other nearby towns, according to Falkenstein.

Rashaun Woods, 19, of Stratford, and Malachi Stone, 19, of Bridgeport, were both charged with larceny of a motor vehicle and conspiracy to commit larceny of a motor vehicle.

They were both held on a $10,000 bond and are scheduled to appear in court later this month, according to Falkenstein.

Shortly after midnight Friday, officers located a car that had been reported stolen out of Stratford in the area of Sterling and Walker roads, Falkenstein said.

Officers also arrested a 16-year-old Trumbull juvenile, who was charged with larceny of a motor vehicle, according to Falkenstein.

The juvenile was released to their mother and was scheduled to appear in court Friday, according to Falkenstein.

Falkenstein also noted the department received 18 complaints of property being stolen from cars and eight stolen vehicles in September.

According to Falkenstein, many of the cars that were entered had been left unlocked, and some of the vehicles that were stolen had the key or key fob left inside.

Anyone with information regarding these incidents is asked to contact the Trumbull Police Department at (203) 261-3665, extension "0."
