About Us
The Trumbull Early Childhood Education Center, which is a part of the Trumbull Public Schools System, is an early intervention program for three to five year old children with and without identified special needs living in the Town of Trumbull. We provide a developmentally appropriate preschool education where children interact, play, learn and grow together in a warm and nurturing environment.

We offer a half-day morning program Monday–Thursday from 8:30-11:35 or an afternoon program Monday-Friday from 12:35-3:05. Parents may choose the number of sessions ranging from 3-5 days. There is a fee for children without identified special needs, which is reasonably priced.
Children are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. We will begin accepting children beginning February 2013. A few of the traits we are looking for are children who:
¨ Have strong language skills
¨ Can separate easily from their caregivers
¨ Follow adult directions
¨ Enjoy learning
¨ Demonstrate good social skills with peers
¨ Demonstrate independence
¨ Show compassion towards others
Our Staff
All of the programs at the Trumbull Early Childhood Education Center are taught by highly qualified teachers either certified in early childhood education, special education, or dually certified in early childhood/special education. They are supported by a transdisciplinary team, which includes the nurse, physical therapist, occupational therapist, speech/language pathologist, school psychologist, social worker and paraprofessionals.
Our Approach Towards Learning Our curriculum, which is aligned with the Trumbull Public Schools and State of Connecticut Preschool Framework Curriculum Standards, encourages children to be actively involved in the learning process, through a variety of developmentally sensitive activities, materials and routines.
¨ Children’s cultural and ethnic backgrounds are respected and valued as part of our multicultural approach towards education.
¨ Families are viewed as integral partners in their child’s development.
¨ Systematic assessment is used to measure the effectiveness of the program in meeting the goals for the children.
¨ Interactions between children and staff provide opportunities to develop an understanding of self and others through personal respect, individuality, positive support, and responsiveness.
¨ Our interesting and inviting environment (indoor and outdoor) encourages exploration, creativity, and learning.
