Arrest Made After Elderly Woman Robbed At Trumbull Mall: PD

The woman was injured during the August robbery and her car was stolen, police said.

TRUMBULL, CT — A Waterbury man was arrested for an August robbery at the Trumbull mall where an elderly woman's purse and car were stolen, police said.

The 82-year-old victim's purse and Honda Accord were taken around noon Aug. 10 when she walked from the JCPenney parking lot. She sustained minor injuries.

Jordan Savage, 25, was stopped by Watertown Police Friday and detained after officers learned of the active arrest warrant from Trumbull.

Savage is suspected of similar crimes in Connecticut and New York State, said Lt. Brian Weir, police spokesman. The Trumbull victim's vehicle was located days later in Staten Island.

Savage was charged by Trumbull Police with third-degree robbery, assault on an elderly person and second, third and sixth degree larceny. Bail was set at $60,000.
