Beloved Trumbull Educator Dies At 44
Michael Curry, a beloved 44-year-old former teacher at Trumbull High School and Madison Middle School, has died.

TRUMBULL, CT — Michael Curry, a beloved former teacher at Trumbull High School and Madison Middle School, died Sunday at the age of 44.
According to his obituary posted by Redgate - Hennessy Funeral Directors, Curry was a longtime Trumbull resident and, like his father, a dedicated educator for Trumbull Public Schools. He taught science at Trumbull High and Madison, during which he earned his administrative degree and further developed his department's curriculum.
A lifelong learner, he also enjoyed the outdoors and music with the ability to create, craft, mend or troubleshoot anything. An accomplished guitarist, he cherished jamming with his high school band mates in his basement music studio from a catalogue that included blues, metal and classic grunge.

Colleagues who worked with Curry during his time at Trumbull High School remembered him for his sense of humor, his ability to problem solve and his tendency to not take himself too seriously, as well as his gift for connecting with students, according to the Connecticut Post.
At one point during his time at Trumbull High School, Curry ran an after-school guitar club that saw a large turnout, the Connecticut Post reports.

Calling hours were held Thursday evening at the Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home in Trumbull. In lieu of flowers, mourners were asked to make a contribution in his memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
