Benefits Change Irks Trumbull Teacher's Union
The Trumbull Education Association said it wasn't given time to study the change and has filed a grievance.

Six bargaining units under the Trumbull Board of Education have filed grievances against a change in health care benefits.
Dozens of teachers spoke during public comment about the first selectman’s proposed budget that claims savings of $3 million due to health care benefit changes, according to the Trumbull Times.
Trumbull Education Association co-president Jane Kluspes said that the association didn’t have time to study the proposal, look at alternatives or determine if it met the requirements set forth in the collective bargaining agreement. The association is willing to work with the Board of Education to come to an agreement, she said.

Board of Education Chairwoman Loretta Chory and board member Paul Lavoie said that they believe the new plan will be determined to be the equivalent of the old plan.
