BMW Stolen in Trumbull

The vehicle was left unlocked with keys inside.

TRUMBULL, CT — A 2016 BMW X1 SUV was stolen from an Elberta Avenue resident's driveway after the vehicle was left unlocked with keys inside, according to police.

The $50,000 vehicle was taken Thursday night along with a purse and other valuables left inside the vehicle. A nearby vehicle was also burglarized.

The theft was reported Friday morning and the vehicle was found later in the day parked in the Fair Haven neighborhood in New Haven.

Police remind residents to lock their vehicles, keep the keys in a secure location and not to leave valuables inside.
