Bridgeport Woman Pulled From River In Trumbull Has Died: Police
A 41-year-old Bridgeport woman pulled from the Pequonnock River on Thursday has died, Trumbull police said.
TRUMBULL, CT — A 41-year-old Bridgeport woman pulled from the Pequonnock River on Thursday has died.
Police say the woman was found unresponsive in the water between White Plains Road and Quarry Road in Trumbull.
"There were other individuals in the area during this time, who eventually observed the woman in the water and called 911," police said in a news release issued Thursday night.

Police, fire and EMS workers from Trumbull arrived shortly after, pulled the victim out of the river, and took over her medical care. Trumbull EMS took her to Saint Vincent’s Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
Swimming and water activities in the area of the river where the woman was found are prohibited, according to police.

The matter remains under investigation by the police, who are withholding the identity of the woman pending notification of her family. There is no threat to the public, police said.
