Burglar Arrested While Fleeing Scene: Trumbull PD

The burglar was caught shortly after the act, police said.

TRUMBULL, CT — A local man was arrested after he burglarized two Daniels Farm Road businesses early Tuesday, according to police.

Police responded to a burglar alarm at Fatty Patty restaurant around 1:30 a.m. and spotted a man in a nearby alley carrying two shopping bags.

Maxwell Haslam, 26, was apprehended and found with burglar tools and clothing items. He later admitted to burglarizing the restaurant in May 2018 as well, said Lt. Keith Golding, police spokesman.

Officers found evidence of an additional burglary committed by Haslam at Firgeleski Chiropractic Center, which is next to Fatty Patty.

Haslam was charged with two counts of third-degree burglary, possession of burglar tools, two counts of criminal mischief and sixth-degree larceny. He was held in lieu of $15,000 bail. Additional charges are expected.
