Burglar Scared Off By Trumbull Resident After Entering Home: Police

TRUMBULL, CT — A burglar was scared off by a Trumbull resident after entering their home early Saturday morning, according to police.

In a news release, Police Lt. Brian Weir said a residential burglary was reported on Haverhill Road around 5 p.m., during which an unknown person entered a home and ran off after a resident confronted them.

According to Weir, the resident confronted the burglar after being alerted to someone walking around inside their home. The suspect then ran out of the house and down the road.

Officers checked the area but were unable to find any people or vehicles related to this incident, Weir said. No injuries were reported.

Police are actively investigating this incident by checking video surveillance in the area and following up on leads to identify the suspect, Weir said.
