C.E.S. Offers Program To Help Schools Recruit Diverse Workforce
Cooperative Educational Services is offering a series to help school systems recruit and retain a diverse workforce.

From C.E.S.: The Professional Development Services division of Cooperative Educational Services in Trumbull, in conjunction with the state’s Department of Education Talent Office, is presenting a series of programs in the next several weeks designed to help schools and districts gain new approaches to recruiting and retaining a workforce that is racially, ethnically and linguistically diverse.
On May 21, C.E.S. will host a Minority Teacher Recruitment meeting facilitated by George Coleman, a former Department of Education commissioner and current C.E.S. consultant; C.E.S. PDS Director Esther Bobowick; and Kim Wachtelhausen of the CSDE Talent Office. HR personnel and school administrators from the C.E.S. region are invited to learn about a new CSDE guidebook on Minority Teacher Recruitment and Retention and build quality MTR plans for their districts. A panel of minority educators will be on hand to talk about recruitment strategies. The meeting is 8:30-11 a.m.
C.E.S. is also hosting two separate three-day workshops on MTR. They are free for participants.
