Car Drives Into House, Structure Fire Reported In Trumbull: Long Hill FD

Long Hill Volunteer Fire Company officials said the vehicle drove off the road and into a Trumbull home, causing structural damage.

TRUMBULL, CT — A car drove into a house and a structure fire broke out at a separate home over the weekend in Trumbull, according to fire officials.

In a Facebook post, officials said Long Hill Volunteer Fire Company crews were called to the Tashua area of town early Sunday morning after a car drove into a house.

When firefighters arrived in the area, they determined the vehicle drove off the road and into the house, causing minor structural damage.

Crews investigated the building to assure its safety and secured the vehicle, fire officials said.

According to a separate Facebook post, crews with the Long Hill, Trumbull Center and Nichols fire companies were also called to a Colonial Drive home Saturday morning after receiving a report of a structure fire.

After further investigation, crews found a small fire burning inside a decorative knee wall and quickly extinguished it, fire officials said. They also stretched an attack line to the back of the house and helped with ventilation.
