Celebrate National Public Health Week with the Trumbull Health Department

National Public Health Week is celebrated the week of April 1 – 7, 2024. The American Public Health Association (APHA) sets aside this week each year to bring together communities to recognize the contributions of public health and to raise awareness of the important role that public health and prevention play in keeping communities healthy. In observance of National Public Health Week, the Trumbull Health Department, TPAUD, and The HUB have partnered together to offer two free trainings on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm, at the Health Department, 335 White Plains Road, Trumbull. No appointment is necessary.

  • Free Narcan Training is offered to all residents. This 10-minute training will teach you how to recognize the signs of an opioid overdose and how to administer the Naloxone (Narcan). Free naloxone kits will be provided while supplies last to those 18 and older.
  • Automated Electronic Defibrillator (AED) training available upon request. This training will teach you how to use an AED. This 10-minute training will teach you how to help preserve life when someone is in cardiac arrest in public spaces.

Residents are encouraged to come to the Health Department on April 2 to learn more and to celebrate the accomplishments of public health.
