Consolidation Planned for Shelton and Monroe Catholic Schools: Report
Bishop Frank J. Caggiano of the Roman Catholic Diocese in Bridgeport is slated to announce his decision this week.

SHELTON, CT — Faced with declining enrollment and dwindling finances, three area Catholic schools are set to be consolidated in some fashion next school year, according to the Roman Catholic Diocese in Bridgeport, reports the Connecticut Post.
Bishop Frank J. Caggiano of the diocese is scheduled to announce his decision on Friday on what to do with the three schools, Shelton's St. Lawrence School and St. Joseph Elementary School, and Monroe's St. Jude's.

One or two of the schools will be closed and those students will be merged into the configuration that remains.
Parents have been briefed that changes are coming, but some parents have expressed concerns that certain staff or resources could be adversely affected by the consolidation, reports the Shelton Herald.
